This is kind of a silly picture, but once you have kids you are more often behind the camera than in front!
I first studied French as an 8th grader and was immediately hooked. I continued through high school and college (BA French/Spanish, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro, KY) and on to a Master's (MA French, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH). BGSU sent me to France for a year! I studied at the Sorbonne in Paris with their program, and the Institut d'Etudes Françaises in Tours. That was a magical year! After that I was lucky enough to be awarded a position as an Assistante de Langues Vivantes at a French day/boarding school, Lycée Eugène Thomas, Le Quesnoy, France.
Once back in the States, I taught French and English at a small private school in Georgia before detouring into the world of advertising sales for a few years, then coming back to teaching at a community college. As I married, then devoted myself to raising my children, I always came back in some way to teaching. I decided to make it official and return to the classroom full-time after a long-term sub position plunged me back into the world of French. Thanks to the Career Switchers program, I was able to do this quickly and efficiently. I am very excited to be a part of the school and finally back in the classroom!
I'm the proud wife of a 29-year active duty Marine. He's the one that turned me into a rabid Kentucky basketball fan (you may call it obsession, we just call it basketball. GO BIG BLUE!). We have two children. Other than basketball, I enjoy paper crafts, reading, singing in my church's ladies ensemble Grace Notes, and dreaming of travel.
